The SlidePRO friction breaking product line provides a range of tool strengths with the ability to delay activation to protect surface drilling rig equipment and downhole equipment.

The SlidePRO MAX friction break tool is the strongest tool on the market with the ability to replace two traditional FBTs.

The MAX shock tool has twice the pump open area and twice the spring stack to maximize friction breaking forces and displacements.

When running the Auto Activation SlidePRO System, the SlidePRO Lite tool will transform into a MAX strength tool when the SlidePRO is near KOP and the bit is in the horizontal section.

The Auto Activating SlidePRO tool provides a method to delay tool activation, protecting surface drilling rig equipment at the start of a BHA run. Delaying activation until the SlidePRO reaches kick off point (KOP) also reduces axial accelerations at the BHA that can break MWD components.

SlidePRO Pulse

The SlidePRO Pulse friction breaking tool is used to provide a softer friction breaking motion that can be installed at surface with less damaging vibrations on drilling rig equipment. Customers use the SlidePRO Pulse tool to reduce slide drilling time in tangent and build sections. The rental cost is also lower when using this simpler tool. Placement is normally 500 m behind the bit.

SlidePRO Standard

The SlidePRO Standard friction break tool provides a strong friction breaking on long reach horizontal sections using 3,000 to 3,800 kPa. Placement is close to 800 m behind the bit depending on the tool strength, fluid type, mud density, well trajectory and drill pipe weight.

SlidePRO MAX LP

The SlidePRO MAX Low Pressure friction break tool (1,400 to 2,000 kPa) uses a larger piston area inside the shock tool to provide strong friction breaking while minimizing pressure. Placement is normally 700 to 850 m behind the bit. This system setup also offers excellent tool strength control using flow rate on shallow horizontal wells, protecting the drilling rig from damaging vibrations.

SlidePRO MAX

The SlidePRO MAX friction break tool is the strongest tool on the market with the ability to replace two traditional FBTs. The MAX shock tool has twice the pump open area and twice the spring stack to maximize friction breaking forces and displacements. With at 3,000 to 3,800 kPa pressure drop, placement of the SlidePRO MAX is between 1400 and 2100 m behind the bit.
